Headlines of interest for March 2019 [updated]…
Trump blew it in Hanoi…
Vice foreign minister Choe on Friday said the DPRK leader had been surprised by the U.S.’s “eccentric” position in the aftermath of the summit.
“On our way back to the homeland, our chairman of the state affairs commission said: ‘For what reason do we have to make this train trip again?’” she said, in comments carried by the AP.
“I want to make it clear that the gangster-like stand of the U.S. will eventually put the situation in danger,” she continued. “We have neither the intention to compromise with the U.S. in any form nor much less the desire or plan to conduct this kind of negotiation.”
Despite this, Choe said, “personal relations” between Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump are “still good and the chemistry is mysteriously wonderful.”
Mixed signals notwithstanding, it is becoming increasingly evident that a ‘keep your (neocon) enemies close’ justification for Trump’s choice of Nat. Sec. advisor is just not working out…
The Sec. State could make an exit as well, not letting the door slap his fat ass on the way out…

Pepe Escobar, March 1:
KASHMIR INTEL UPDATE
It’s extremely sensitive. And it runs like this.
There was absolutely no interest by Imran Kahn, the Pakistani Army and the ISI to launch an attack on India in Kashmir; Pakistan was about to run out of money.
The US reversed course on Pakistan – out of fear that if placed under too much pressure, Islamabad would start selling their nuclear weapons on the black market.
I’m NOT making this up; it comes from one of my top – American – intel sources.
It gets dicier. Pakistan was to be bolstered by the US, via Saudi Arabia, with $20 billion and an IMF loan.
Islamabad obviously did not want that jeopardized.
So there was absolutely no reason to launch a terrorist attack in Kashmir.
Notice that there have been two almost simultaneous terror ops launched from Pakistan – against Iran and against India. There’s no smoking gun – yet, but these may have been manipulated by a foreign intel agency.
Now answer the Cui Bono riddle; which state would profit immensely from a war between Pakistan and Iran and/or a war between Pakistan and India?

“Deripaska’s efforts came very close to success,” said David McGee, a former federal prosecutor who represents Levinson’s family. “We were told at one point that the terms of Levinson’s release had been agreed to by Iran and the U.S. and included a statement by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pointing a finger away from Iran. At the last minute, Secretary Clinton decided not to make the agreed-on statement.”
In any case, it is surprising is that Oleg Deripaska and particularly Semion Mogilevich would attempt to arrange Levinson’s release at all. Consider that Mogilevich had been a primary target of Levinson in the FBI. From a BBC interview…

Wayne Madsen Report – March 15-17, 2019 — CIA & other U.S. intelligence agencies going wild under Trump
It has been disclosed to CNN by an anonymous Venezuelan opposition figure that he and a group of Venezuelan Army defectors were responsible for a botched assassination attempt against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro last August. The team of would-be assassins used two drones laden with explosives to attack Maduro as he addressed a military parade on Avenida Bolivar in downtown Caracas. The drones exploded before reaching their intended target, Maduro, on the parade reviewing stand. Maduro, who was unharmed, later said he thought the explosions were caused by fireworks. Seven members of the Venezuelan National Guard were injured in the attack. The perpetrators of the attack said they realized that civilians could have been killed but they carried out their plan nevertheless.
Bolton insisted the day after the attack that it had been “faked” by the Maduro government to provide a pretext for a wider crackdown on the opposition, which is backed by the CIA.
The would-be assassins trained for their operation on a farm in Colombia and claimed they ordered the drones from the United States and retrofitted them as weapons. They admitted that they were in contact with several unnamed U.S. government agents three times after the failed attack. The Venezuelan Interior Minister confirmed most of the assassination team’s story. The Venezuelan government has accused the Colombian government of President Ivan Duque, far-right Colombian paramilitary units employed by the CIA, and the Trump administration of being behind the assassination attempt…
The CIA and National Security Agency are at the center of a major extortion operation in Argentina carried out by the government of one-time Donald Trump real estate business partner, President Mauricio Macri.
In what has been dubbed “Extortiongate,” Argentine Federal Judge Alejo Ramos Padilla is spearheading a case against the Macri regime that involves millions of dollars being extorted from political opposition targets and the coercion of false testimony against those targets. Padilla told the Freedom of Expression Committee of the Chamber of Deputies that what he uncovered was a “para-state network of ideological, political and judicial espionage of great magnitude,” adding that it was a web of illegal intelligence operations linked to the judiciary, government, security forces, political powers, and the media.”…
Padilla named as perpetrators of the extortion operation, Federal Prosecutor Carlos Stornelli, his close associate, Marcelo d’Alessio, as well as Argentina’s Agencia Federal de Inteligencia (AFI) intelligence agency, two right-wing congresswomen — Elisa Carrió and Paula Olivetto of Macri’s Civic Coalition — and the right-wing daily, Clarín. D’Alessio was arrested on February 15. In 22 hours of incriminating audio and video, d’Alessio admits to Stornelli having collected $12 million in bribes from illegally targeted individuals since August 2018. Stornelli is believed to have been conducting his extortion operation with the knowledge and encouragement of Security Minister Patricia Bullrich. Stornelli has refused to appear before Judge Padilla and turn over his mobile phones pursuant to a judicial summons. Reputed bagman in the operation Gustavo Sáen, a close ally of President Macri, has provided his phones to Padilla.
Padilla revealed that d’Alessio worked for the CIA and that found in his possession were documents from the U.S. embassy in Buenos Aires, CIA manuals on the exfiltration of U.S. agents from Argentina and Venezuela, and U.S.-issued weapons. Text messages extracted from d’Alessio’s smart phone dealt with such matters as espionage against Uruguay, coercing false testimony against the Maduro government of Venezuela from a lawyer for Venezuela’s Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PdVSA), the Venezuelan state-owned oil company, the assets of which have been seized by the Trump administration; and his reporting, via diplomatic pouch, to a U.S. intelligence front company located in the state of Maine.
Found in the raid on d’Alessio’s home was a cache of incriminating evidence. Padilla said, “We found documents, intelligence files, notebooks with sensitive data about children, wives, relatives who were targets, espionage elements such as hidden cameras between key rings, drones, a weapon that caught everyone’s attention.” Padilla was obviously referencing the botched drone assassination attempt against President Maduro last August.
The operation targeting PdVSA was an attempt to link the firm to drug smuggling and other illegal operations. Padilla discovered that it involved not only d’Alessio and the CIA, but the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), as well. The operation, code named “Operation Brusa Dovat,” involved former PdVSA director Gonzalo Brusa Dovat, an Uruguayan national, and was part of an overall Trump administration scheme to freeze the assets of the Venezuelan oil company abroad…

Wayne Madsen Report – March 28-29, 2019 — Trump’s SEC Chairman is swamping Wall Street with personal interests
Jay Clayton, Donald Trump’s handpicked chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the chief federal regulator of Wall Street, is maximizing his role as overseer of America’s publicly-traded stocks to benefit himself, his and Trump’s families, and their billionaire friends. SEC insiders report that after the exposure and subsequent take down of the Panamanian law firm, Mossack Fonseca, Clayton has made it easier for the world of offshore tax-evasive companies to operate from American shores.
Clayton, who was formerly a partner with the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell [editor’s note: since 1879, S&C has been an incubator of transnational corporatism and the American intelligence community; for background, see Internationalist 360°], has close links to many of the companies and businesses that were investigated either directly by Justice Department Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller or by U.S. Attorney offices that were tapped to continue Mueller’s investigation. One such business is that of Mikhail Fridman, the Russian Alfa-Group. It was Fridman’s Alfa Bank that was found to have installed its own server in the Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential campaign. Clayton is also linked to Apollo Global Management, which helped bail out Jared Kushner’s failing office tower at 666 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
Just as was the case with Kushner, Clayton made and continues to make knowingly false statements and material omissions regarding the controlled entity in his sworn federal financial disclosure forms filed with the Office of Government Ethics. That entity, WMB Holdings, which is registered in Delaware, is believed by SEC insiders to be acting as the replacement for Mossack Fonseca in providing corporate confidentiality for money laundering and tax evasion entities, including offshore shell corporations.
Among its “business, financial, and representational services,” WMB Holdings creates “special purpose vehicles” for clients. That was exactly one of the services provided by Mossack Fonseca, which registered offshore entities in Cyprus for Donald Trump, prior to its exposure and collapse. Another firm controlled by WMB Holdings is Corporation Service Company (CSC), which currently maintains its corporate headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware. Among its clients is Russia’s large oil company, Lukoil. On September 11, 2001, CSC managed to evacuate all of its 60 employees from the 87th floor of Two World Trade Center – the South Tower – prior to the United Airlines plane striking the building. CSC also maintains offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Melbourne, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Nova Scotia (Yarmouth), Paris, Wiesbaden, Stockholm, Dublin, and Luxembourg.
CSC’s president is Rodman Ward III, a retired partner of the Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom law firm. Skadden was a focus of Mueller’s investigation. It paid a fine of $4.6 million to the Justice Department for failing to register as a foreign agent in its work with Paul Manafort and the Ukrainian government in 2012.
It should be noted that Clayton’s wife, Gretchen Butler Clayton, was a vice president at Goldman Sachs while her husband represented Goldman Sachs while with Sullivan & Cromwell. Although Clayton disclosed his interests in WEB Holdings, he continues to fail to disclose his interest in CSC and a related firm, Delaware Trust.
An address that is associated with both WEB Holdings and CSC – 2711 Centerville Road, Suite 400 in Wilmington – is linked to several firms that were registered offshore by Mossack Fonseca. These include shell companies linked to the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Russia, Bahamas, Venezuela, Samoa, Dominican Republic, United Kingdom, Thailand, Aruba, Jersey, Barbados, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Malta.
The WMB and CSC address in Wilmington is also used by Goldman Sachs entities, including Goldman Sachs Money Markets Inc., Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Access Fund 2006 LP, Goldman Sachs Pep 2005 Advisors LLC, Goldman Sachs Vintage Fund IV Advisors LLC, Goldman Sachs Distressed Opportunities II Advisors LLC, Goldman Sachs Special Opportunities Fund 2006 LP, Goldman Sachs Pep IX Advisors LLC, Goldman Sachs Columbus Co-Investment Advisors LLC, Goldman Sachs Petershill Fund Advisors LLC, Goldman Sachs Pep Asia Advisors LLC, Goldman Sachs Pep (NJ) Advisors LLC, and Goldman Sachs Realty (Texas), Inc. Other Goldman Sachs entities are registered with The Prentice-Hall Corporation System, Inc., also located at the same Wilmington address.
The Mueller Report is dead, long live the Mueller Report…
Mad Cow Productions – A Cliff Note’s version of what Mueller found
With much confusion and clinging to false hopes from the left -including those of the left who should know better, like Hopsicker and Madsen- perhaps a review of the history of the mule to which they have hitched their carts might be in order. A good start would be this pair of recent publications from Chip Tatum: The Mule: Robert S. Mueller III, and The Tatum Chronicles: George H.W. Bush, William Barr, Robert S. Mueller, Ollie North all share a dark secret; continuing with this Executive Intelligence Review article, William Barr, the Bush clique, and their friends at Dope, Inc. and Compromised: Clinton, Bush and the CIA by Terry Reed and John Cummings, both from 1994. In the latter, check the index for “Robert Johnson” which is Barr’s code name. While Bill Clinton was part of this network, he did run afoul of Barr -then chief counsel for the CIA front Southern Air Transport- when evidently the Arkansas governor was taking too big of a cut from the arms and drug trafficking through Mena. Perhaps in his current run as AG, then, Barr will take the opportunity to settle some old scores?

House Democrats met yesterday with Obama official John Brennan, who used Senator Harry Reid to leak the Russia hoax to the media during the 2016 campaign. His role in this conspiracy remains largely unexplored by either the media or other investigators.
