Normally, there are brain cells (neurons) in the human brain that produce dopamine. These neurons concentrate in a particular area of the brain, called the substantia nigra. Dopamine is a chemical that relays messages between the substantia nigra and other parts of the brain to control movements of the human body.

If the Hillary campaign finally admits her battle with Parkinson disease, but pleads that this has no impact on her cognitive ability, in pointing for instance to Franklin Roosevelt (who concealed his Polio which left him paralyzed while his mind remained sharp), consider the following from Memory Loss & the brain: Substantia nigra

The substantia nigra is a region of the brain which contains neurons that produce the neurotransmitter dopamine. It is black in appearance, giving rise to the name (“substantia nigra” is Latin for “black substance”.) Neurons in the substantia nigra travel to brain areas which are important for motor control as well as to the frontal lobes, which are important for attention and executive function. Parkinson’s disease is a disorder that involves progressive death of neurons in the substantia nigra, leading to motor and cognitive symptoms.

There are, then, potential problems with “executive function” in the brain of the Democratic candidate to head the Executive branch of the U.S. government. Giving benefit of the doubt, and supposing that she isn’t lying, Hillary’s extensive memory lapses concerning her email server may be symptomatic of problems with dopaminergic projections to her frontal cortex from the substantia nigra…
